1941-October 29, 2025

Marion Craig Button, age 83, passed away peacefully on October 29th 2025, in Newark, Delaware.

Born in Scotland, Marion’s gentle nature brought warmth and happiness to everyone she met. She spent many years as a homemaker until her children were grown. She then worked at Bit O’ Scotland Bakery and the Cheese Chalet, where her cake decorating skills and culinary talents touched countless lives.

Marion was a devoted mother to David Button, Deana Yokimcus (Victor), and Kirsty Dali (Jason); a proud grandmother to Matthew, Melissa, Victor Jr, Tyler and Cierra; and a joyful great-grandmother to Ashlyn, Lauren, Lincoln and Grayson. She cherished every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Her passions included knitting, baking and cooking for all her family. Marion had a gift for making people smile, often with her delightful Scottish accent and funny Scottish sayings.

Private funeral services will be held in accordance with her wishes.

Marion’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed, and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Marion was another Mother to me in my teens and through my twenties. She wasn't just a Mother in law, She was a Mother in my heart. As I start to tear while Im writing this I hear Her say - wheeshed, what a ya duin? Dont be shtupid, its no a skelf, I didnie want you to cry - and now Im smiling. She had that affect on me. Her cute little Scottish sayings and colonialisms always come to mind and make me smile at just the right time. Her unconditional love that rivals Jesus, Her bright smile that was the envy of the Sun, and Her macaroni and cheese that has no comparison will be among the thousand endearments that I will never forget. There is no doubt She will be welcomed with open arms and opened gates into the kingdom of Heaven. And there is no doubt She will get the red carpet treatment at the Queens Hotel in she sky. God bless us all as well as Marion blessed our lives - I will never forget you Marion. I will never forget you Mom.
