Obituary

James “Jim” Edward Prinz passed away peacefully in New Jersey on February 9, 2026. The son of the late Irene Mae (King) & Owen W. Prinz, he was born in Saginaw, MI on April 24, 1956. He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1974 and his career spanned electrical, landscaping, construction, and project management, most recently working for Parkway Construction & Architecture (Texas). For 25 years he lived in Scottsdale, AZ and the surrounding areas and most recently moved back to his hometown of Saginaw in 2023.

He is survived by his three sons: Corey (Stephanie) of Tempe, AZ, Kyle (Meghan) of Saginaw, MI, and Tyler Prinz of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren Sutton (11), Grafton (7), Norah (6), and Stevie (3); sisters Krissandra (Pete) Barrera, Susan (Mark) Rybak, Dedra (Tom) Siebert, and twin sister Janice (Aaron) Bober; and many nieces & nephews and their families.

Throughout his life he could be seen working hard at the job site, golfing on the green, raising and riding horses, cooking, traveling to tropical destinations, and enjoying Southwestern culture where his signature look was a black cowboy hat, white button-up, and cowboy boots. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Gift of Life Michigan to help support future generations through organ and tissue donation (giftoflifemichigan.org). A celebration of life memorial will be scheduled in Saginaw, MI during summer 2026, details to come.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked as a telephone operator with your Mom and Dad. They introduced me to my husband, we've been married 42 years. Guess they knew what they were doing! Remember the good times, hold them close. Grief moves at its own pace, different for everyone. Eventually you will learn to live with it as the pain lessens.
