Obituary

Gerald “Jerry” Leatham Jr., 48, of Newton, NJ, passed away on February 11, 2026, at his home, surrounded by an abundance of love.

Jerry was born on August 23, 1977, to Renee Tierney Leatham and the late Gerald Leatham Sr. He spent his life devoted to his family, his work, and the people he cared about most.

Jerry was the beloved husband of Jessica (Bird) Leatham, and a proud and loving father to his seven children: Gavin, Julie Ann, Megan, Jack, Aidan, Keegan, and McKenna. He was also a devoted grandfather to his two cherished grandchildren, Lakelyn and Tripp, who brought him immense joy.

One of seven siblings, Jerry is also survived by his loving family: sister Kerry Ann and her husband Chris, sister Melissa, sister Nikki and her husband Kevin, sister Stephanie, and brothers Ed and Donny. Many nieces and nephews and even a couple great nephews!

Jerry worked as a Supervisor for the Stillwater Township DPW, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, he found happiness in building and fixing things, cooking—especially his famous BBQ—and taking pride in caring for his yard, which he cherished. Jerry also loved and spoiled his fur babies endlessly.

Above all else, Jerry will be remembered for the kind of man he was: someone who would give a helping hand without hesitation, give the shirt off his back, and come to anyone’s rescue. His heart was big, his love was deep, and his presence was unforgettable.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
