Obituary

Brenda Magerko passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, with her beloved husband, Paul, by her side. After a long and courageous battle with chronic illness, Brenda went to be with her son, P.J., her father, Fred and her soul dog, Sassy.

Brenda was a strong and determined woman who fought her battle with incredible courage. She would want to be remembered not for the illness that took her from us, but for how hard she fought and for how long she never gave up.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Paul, and her daughter, Mandi, who were at the center of her world. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara, her sister, Wendy,Mother in Law, Gloria, her brothers, Fred and Gary, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her adopted nieces and nephews, her adopted sisters, BethAnn and Norma, and her two amazing granddaughters, Maddy and Gabby. She will also be missed by her beloved granddog, Poppy.

Brenda's life was filled with love, family, strength, and memories that will be carried in the hearts of all who knew her. Though her battle has ended, her love and the mark she left on those around her will never be forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Brenda. You fought long, you fought hard, and you were loved every step of the way.

Brenda was a special, loving friend for over 30 years. She went out of her way to be there for everyone she knew. I spent many days with Brenda and her devoted husband, Paul. I’ll always remember Paul as the guy all the kids surrounded at Duke Island Park — such fun times when my kids were young. Brenda was devoted to country music. Her dad was a musician, and Brenda was an amazing singer. We had great fun country-western dancing from the 90s on. Brenda helped me through my mother’s passing and even used her creativity to make a beautiful memorial video. The pictures and music she chose left Mom’s relatives and friends in tears. She included Mom’s favorite Irish ballad, “Danny Boy. ” So many wonderful times with this dear friend. Prayers of solace for Paul, Mandy, and all who loved her. She’s now with PJ, Sassy, her beloved father, and the Lord.

I talked to Brenda for over a hour on the 8th,she sounded like her normal self. We was catching up like we always did, laughing over old memories and new things in our lives. No matter how long it had been,we would pick up right where we left off last conversation. I will miss our random calls, most of all her laugh, her smile, her always being true to herself. Love ya Brenda
