Robert E Dechert Jr.
Date of Death: December 05, 2020
Punta Gorda, FL
Robert "Bobbo" Edward Dechert Jr. passed away December 5, 2020 from glioblastoma. Bobbo was a man who made time for everyone he met, making them feel valued regardless of age, social status or disability. His huge heart for people led him to counsel hundreds dealing with drug addiction. A devoted NY Giants fan and passionate about sports, Bobbo played semi pro baseball, organized an over 50 basketball league, and coached children's soccer, a joy for him. Happy, fun loving, helpful, Bobbo was a guy who made friends easily, loved to entertain and show off his cooking skills. An impeccably stylish dresser, he loved music and was a fabulous dancer, especially in the kitchen. A believer in God, he admired the stars, often commented on the sky’s beauty at sundown and felt most at home around water, the beach and shore. Bobbo is loved and remembered by those he left behind: the love of his life, his wife, Michelle Kalanja Dechert, fortunate to have him for nearly 2 years and grateful he moved from NJ to Florida to be with her; his beloved daughter, Morgan Dechert, who he loved with his whole heart, and his 4 legged gurl, Prada. With the desire to have people remember him as he was, Bobbo wanted no formal funeral services or wake. Remember him with that sparkle in his blue eyes and the much-needed lightness he brought to all around him. “Til we see each other again, my love, you have my whole heart for my whole life"
