Rachel C Barnes
Date of Death: May 19, 2020
With great sorrow we announce the passing of Rachel Barnes on Tuesday May 19, her fifth day at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Hospitalized alone in the Covid ICU with no visitation, she was nevertheless in the hearts and constant prayers of friends and family. Born Rachel Catherine Entwisle in Syracuse NY on January 31, 1984, she lived her early years in Baldwinsville, NY. When her father’s job there disappeared, she moved with the family to Cary, Illinois, a suburb northwest of Chicago, her father finding no prospects locally. She completed elementary and Junior high school there, but aging grandparents and longing for family, as well as the mountains and seashores of the east coast called the family back to the east coast. So she moved again, to Flemington NJ, where she completed high school and earned a certificate in child care. She was even a prom queen. She loved the water, and spent many a long day at the Jersey shore with her family. She was fortunate to meet and marry the love of her life, James Barnes. They moved together to Phillipsburg. Rachel was looking forward to planting her garden in her back yard. She took up working with beads, and quickly learned to make beautiful earnings, rings, and other jewelry for friends, family, and the occasional craft fair. Rachel was preceded into heaven in recent years by her Mother, Janet Entwisle and her Grandmother, Florence Baran, and we smile to think of the three of them together, perhaps laughing over a game of Parcheesi. She is survived by her husband James Barnes, her brother Jonathan Entwisle, her father Patrick Entwisle, her husband’s loving family, numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles, and a loving circle of friends. Due to the current pandemic, there are no formal funeral arrangements at this time. The family will organize a private gathering at a later date. Her life is being celebrated and her passing mourned on her Facebook pages.
