George John Yencho Jr, 77, of Audubon New Jersey, died peacefully May 18, 2020 at the Veterans Hospital in Philadelphia after a long health battle with his heart and lungs. George was born February 17, 1943 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania to George John Yencho Sr. and Helen Hasuga Jurkewycz. George served as a member the United States Marine Corps in the 1960’s and after receiving his honorable discharge became a Fireman with the Philadelphia Fire Department. Upon retiring from the Philadelphia Fire Department, he worked for Allied Barton Security at the Philadelphia Art Museum. Throughout the years he enjoyed weightlifting, boxing, reading, listening to classic rock, and practicing Tai Chi. George leaves to cherish his loving memory his children, Richard Yencho and Angelina Yencho-Moody. His son in law Deric E. His daughter in law Connie. Grandchildren Malisa, Deric W., Chelsea, Evan, and Emily. His brother Daniel, his sister in law Terry. His niece Sarah and nephews Dion, Daniel, Arthur, and Christopher. His great niece Kayla and great nephews AJ, Clinton, Christopher, and a host of friends. Due to current restrictions, a private service will be held later for the immediate family at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newton Pa.
