Earl Carter, Jr. a/k/a “Big Earl” died at the age of 71 in Montclair, New Jersey on August 21, 2020. Earl was a born in Front Royal, Virginia to the late Earl Carter, Sr. and Mary Carter. He grew up in Caldwell, New Jersey and graduated from James Caldwell High School and always remained in the Caldwell area with strong ties to the community. During his lifetime Earl successfully ran his own trucking business “Proud Mary, Enterprises” and also worked as an EMT for Mountainside and University Hospital. Everyone that knew him knew that he would always dedicate his time to help someone in need. His hobbies included photography, his Lincoln Continental Car Club and Fishing. He loved fishing and always talked about fishing but he never did much fishing. 😊 Earl is survived by who he would call his 'favorite' Daughter Mary Carter; favorite Granddaughter Amanda Joy “Bonehead” Shockley; favorite Grandson Jeremy “Bigg Earl” Carter; and favorite Great Grandchildren Makayla Joy Shockley and Jason Michael Shockley. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and loving Carter family. In accordance with his wishes Earl will be laid to rest with his parents at Mount Morris Cemetery in Hume, Virginia.
